About the Artist
Corisa Moreno is a Los Angeles–based painter with an MFA from California College of the Arts, additional study at the Art Students League of New York, Parsons School of Design, and Christie's Education in London and over 20 years of studio practice behind every brushstroke.
Her commissioned portraits are hand-painted works of fine art, created to honor a real bond and hold a permanent place in the home. She approaches each piece not as a likeness, but as an attempt to capture what makes an animal unmistakably their own — a particular attentiveness, an energy, a presence that lives beyond the photograph.
Raised in Hawaii and shaped by years living and working abroad in Japan, Spain, and England, Moreno's work has always been rooted in how people form lasting connections whether that be with one another or with the animals they love. Her portraits are held in private collections and made for homes where the memory is meant to last.
